The setting is spare with white formica tables and plastic forks and cutlery. But this all-vegetarian East Indian menu is filled with rare and unusual delights. Lemon rice, pakora, poori, utappam and malai kofta are all recommended. Also look for coconut raita and chutney. And there is a bakery counter filled with an array of Indian sweets and snacks. Something for all palates. -- Jeff Beutner, Shepherd Express.

"Despite its name, not everything at this informal Indian restaurant is sweet. These appetizers, filled with cilantro-laced cooked potato and other spices, taste best when you use a little of both the mint (green) and tamarind (brown) sauces that accompany them. Start with two and then decide how many more you want to take home."
